• Competitor rules

Please remember that any mention of competitors, hinting at competitors or offering to provide details of competitors will result in an account suspension. MY RIG with piccies as requested

CPU = 3ghtz quadcore (NOT i7 the one before that) clocked to 4ghtz and stable at 40 degrees under full load .. I reckon it's got room for more stretch -- going to try 4.5ghtz tonight .. just for the kick of it ..

The front of the reservoir is warm to the touch when on full load .. but the temp sensors are all in 'very green' hanging around the 40 degrees for everything ..

GPU out of general principle I want to beat 2 5870 crossfired cards for speed. After that - I'm just gonna see what I can get away with.

Just toying with whether to use 'autotune' ATI -- or manually push it up.

CREED ..

In my non-tech speak

1) Bought a plug socket to USB charger thing from amazon for about £5.
2) Bought a mini-dp male to female DP connector. These are very difficult to get hold of -- ended up getting mine from the states from a company called 'circuit assembly' (their e-store). Check availability before you order from the UK as most places have lead-time of weeks ..
3) From the apple-store bought 'mini displayport to dual-link dvi-int'. Its about £60. Most importantly it is 'active' as in requires a power source. And yes, you can not get hold of 'normal size DP to DVI' hence the grief with buying this part then converting it back up ..
4) Plugged it all together. The key is to not plug the USB power for the apple bit into the computer (keeps losing signal for some bizarre reason) -- instead plug it into the thing I bought in (1). Don't know why -- it just works better.

And hey presto -- success.

DISCLAIMER -- The above system only has about 60% success for people on t'net. On reading this, I just took the gamble -- and got lucky... but internet is full of hatemail about apples bit saying 'doesn't work for me' so tread carefully ...

i want to see some performance figures !!! holy crap i wana be able to dedicate a room to my PC let alone having a setup big enough to take up a room

Well I'll tell you the exact truth with performance figures .. why not?

I've already admitted Crysis just crashes out and I ain't got a clue why (if I was a BSer I wouldn't have told you guys that)..

The only game I've checked (that worked) so far is 'Trials 2'. That updated about an average of 2800 frames per second ... which was quite funny I thought ..

I have my own room too :D

LCD on the wall, leather 3/2 settee, mini glass fridge, 5.1 set-up and my computer rig. Off limit to all son's grand sons/daughters and missus asks for permission to come in, we do have seven rooms downstairs.

Take some better pics of your case.

It looks very messy in there. Buy a bigger case because from the angles that looks too small for the amount of stuff inside.

Other than that you've got some really nice things. :)

TJ07 is a very capable case lol.

He needs to tidy it up. :D
