I have a bit of spare money this month (350/400) so I thought I might see if there are anyways of improving my system in turns of performance for gaming.
Specs as below.
Couple of options passing through my mind are perhaps a Q6600 or a MB upgrade so I can run faster ram and perhaps SLI @ 2X16 PCI-E.
Or am I wasting my money and any upgrade wouldnt be that binifical over what I already have?
Cheers me dears!

Thanks guys, did the monitor last month, upgraded from a HannsG 19" to a Samsung 20", not massive screen difference course I sit close and wanted extra res without going to a 24". Hard-drive is perhaps a good point, I have a SataII 250GB 16MB Cache atm its either a Seagate or Maxtor cant remember, but would this improve performance much?

Whats wrong with the case? :p It's good for cooling and doesnt take off honest!

you could go quad with a p35 board, sli really isnt worth it and netither are ultras, the acer 24" moniter is a good buy tho imo

cases are personal preferance imo, a lot of people love lian li but i think there very poor due to sharp edges ect

Tell me I wasn't the only person to think of Lethal Weapon at the title of this thread?

If you really want to spend some money then I'd probably go with a P35 based motherboard and a Q6600 but there is no obvious need to change. :)

Heh yeah, was on TV last night too (LW4), was great :)

OP: Q6600 if you wanted too, and also a motherboard but you may wish to hang fire for the X38 boards which are due in ~2 weeks.

I think that your system would do anything you really need it to no problemo. At the moment, seeing as you have an e6600 a Q6600 would be overkill and you should consider saving your dosh and waiting for the next load of cpus to come out.

Thats what id do anyways :)

ooooo X38 boards whats the story with them then, what do they do that the P35 boards wont?
Dual / Tripple 16x PCI-E lanes
Much better integration with DDR3
PCI-E 2.0 specification
Rumoured to work better than P35's with Penryn chips (can't confirm that)
1600 FSB CPU support (apparantly native)
Rumoured to be able to do SLI (definetly Xfire though)

The twin engine case is nice, ive got it now so ignore everyone else :P

You could get yourself a watercooling setup, otherwise just wait and upgrade when the new bits and bobs are out.
