As a lot of you know. I got robbed a few month back and they took my 360, games and DVDs etc.

Just got off the phone to the DC who investigated and closed the case. Its good news.

A few weeks after being robbed I went down to Gamestation to ID some 360`s I found mine as it had my GT on it still. The police told the manager to bag it all up and tag it with my name for them to collect it for evidence at a later date. They didnt need the 360 but used my HD DVD player add-on instead for evidence.

So the DC I was just talking to told me the staff at GS have misplaced my 360. Its not there. The manager said to the DC it must have been sold. The DC said "so what are you going to do".....

I get a brand new 360...:D

The DC is going over to GS now to sort it out.. She is determined to make them give me a new one plus all tne games etc that got traded in. The DC has a print out from GS with the trade details that took place with my stolen gear.. So if she stands by her word I should get it all replaced..

Now to sort out the insurance. Thats a bloody pain..

Nice to see a good ending on your story, hope it all goes well from here.

Its far from ended...:(

Yes I have (will be) my 360 back and HD DVD player but its the insurance. They are killing us. I have mentioned in previous post about this robbery they want proof of everything. We are sending in the list of stolen goods with whatever proof we can muster. Got some photos of my DVD cabinate with lots of box sets on that is classed as proof on the insurers part but its the other stuff that I havent got proof for. Presents, gifts stuff bought 10-15 years ago.. they expect you to have proof of ownership on this stuff..

Crazy. If they get funny my missus is getting tough on them..They shall regret it..:D

They should have a record of who traded in that console? I know when i trade stuff in they take id :)

Oh yeah . The girl who traded it in was arrested 2 days after.. Along with the lad who burgled me.. Both sentenced to 12 months something or other, probably comm service..

Good news mate.

Dont worry to much with the insurance company, they said similar to us when we had a fire in the house that they wanted receipts for the duvet cover, clothes etc.
They argued for about 30 seconds over it as its unreasonable.

Not always. I traded in a 360 + HD-DVD add on and a load of games which I robbed from some guys house in Derby... they never asked me for ID :p ;) :D

Ah but they did catch you a couple of days later because you was stupid enough not to wipe the HD and not look out for CCTV in the shop.. :p

Talking about stupid thieves, my friend had his wallet stolen from work a while back, the bloke who stole it took my friends Cash card paid for a new mobile phone with it (pre chip and pin), then when asked about his points he only got his own tesco points card out and used it! They traced back the transaction to that points card and nicked him ha ha.

i dont get asked for name and address if im trading in, but im 34. I see boys trading stuff in who are 16-17 (there was a guy trading in a ps2 and about 40 games, and they refused to take it because he had no ID).

Nice to see it's working out for you, I felt really sorry for you to hear you'd been burgled, it must be horrible. Excellent work by the DC though to chase it up for you.
