whats it going to be used for? do you need the hyperthreading of the 2600k? save some money and get the 2500k or spend the saved money on a better case, http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-104-GL&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517 save even more money with this ram

Wow, thanks for the quick reply! I would mainly be using it for Gaming and would like it to last me for a while. Apart from that I may be wanting to run some render heavy applications. Thanks for the advice.

That's a really good question I intend to find the answer for. This will prolly be a silly question but: is hyperthreading at all used in Gaming?

im not sure, i dont think any games do, and if any do they will be few. if nothing you use will utilize hypertheading i dont think its worth gettin the 2600k

Yeah, I think an i5 it is then. Thanks for all the comments so far. If the 100 hundred gives similar cooling and has the same number of fans etc then I can shave a few quid off there too.
