My son's iphone with a UK Plusnet sim won't work properly in France. He can make and receive calls and text messages. It shows as a 4g signal available. But whenever he tries to use any internet connection it says there is no connection. He has roaming enabled. It has been like this since he arrived and it's never worked.

He has tried the usual things such as putting it into airplane mode, turning it off and on and taking it out of airplane mode. He's tried connecting ot a different provider out there. He's even swapped sims with his friend. When they swap he can get an internet connectoin on his phone with his friends sim and his friend cant get an internet connection with my son's sim in his phone.

We've phoned Plusnet four times to ask them to check everything their side and they are adamant that there is no block on his account, he has not run out of data and he should be able to use roaming. All they keep saying is that the phone mast near him must be faulty even though my son and his friend can swap sims and it works.

I'm fairly sure at this point that there is something blocking him on the Plusnet side. but is there anything else we can check? I'm not with him but can pass any suggestions on. Thanks.

Ah well look at the second link, someone had a similar issue and it turned out to be plusnet's fault.
Thanks. I'll try Plunet a fifth time tomorrow. I'm sure it's blocked at their end despite what they say.

They appear to be a bunch of muppets. I think I'll just migrate my son's account to another provider when he's back. :)
