Not automatically better no, however times change.

The x-files is still good in the same way red-dwarf is in my opinion, however it is not something I would plaster all over my iwanttogetlaidbyafemalegeek space.

Fair enough to your opinion, but for me The X-Files is timeless and something I grew up with. It still holds up really, really well today IMO.
