My spec and games...

Will my wife NOT be able to play any of the following with decent-enough graphics at 1080 res on my spec listed below? (I'm seeing if it's not worth even considering some of them)

Sims 3
Dead Space 2 (hmm, that's probably more for me!)
Witcher 2
Crysis 2
Elder Scrolls V
Deus Ex 3
Dragon Age 2
LA Noire


Spec:
Asus M3A78-T AM2+ Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ AM2+ CPU Unlocked to a Quad Core Phonom II X4
4GB DDR2 Ram
Gainward Rampage700 HD4870 X2 2048MB GS GLH

this a joke :P

4870x2 is not a bad card so should runs sims 3 and most games u list all be it u may need to drop graphics a little.

The CPU is ok to.

Not a joke, I'm pretty out of touch and don't know what current game requirements are.

So it'll be fine for all current games coming out? But I guess not as good as the screenshots in the high res thread?
 
Im no expert as well probably because I cant afford to upgrade every week like some so I have no need to keep track of all the latest gear and benchmarks.

But your spec seems ok the 4870x2 used to be the balls and was very sought after today its still ok not great but its good.

I would wait for others that know more about this than me but I would say you drop the graphics I would at least think you could play the games you list?.

I know two girls who played Halo frequently (amongst other FPSs). I know another girl who plays JRPGs since she was a teen. And 3 (or 4*) who own and play the Wii (Mario, Zelda etc.) often.

*I don't really count her because she only seems to do Mario Party and Kart.

And my gf has been a Playstation fangirl for ages and enjoys playing the Sims 3 on my rig.


I'm more surprised with the amount of girls who love watching *good* anime :p
 
I remember a girl gamer clan at a European tournament I played in... They were total and utter gash and resembled what you would expect a typical girl gamer to be. Not all of them are like this as I know some truly beautiful and stunning girl gamers.
 
I picked her up Sims 3 and Mass Effect 2. Hopefully they'll both look nice.

She also wants Amnesia, but after playing the demo one night she had terrible nightmares so I refuse to buy it for her!! Nutter! :cool:
