Hi guys,

Could I please have someone take a peek at the follow components and give me their opinion on if the parts are compatible? I'm quite sure they are, but I'd hate to overlook something and waste a ton of dough:

CPU:
AMD Phenom X4 Quad Core 965 BE @ 3.40 Ghz

Motherboard:
ASRock 970 Extreme3 AMD 970
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-068-AK

Memory:
GeIL Black Dragon 8GB (2x4GB) @ 1333 Mhz
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-118-GL

HDD:
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-257-SE

Graphics Card:
MSI HD 6450 1024 MB GDDR3
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-169-MS

I also have a case I know'll house it all and a 400w PSU.

It'll be for mid-range gaming, while the GPU is just a placeholder for now to make do.

I look forward to your assistance and appreciate the help.

Is this a new build?

I think you'll need a little more than that. What's your budget?

Hey, thanks for the replies!

My budget is around £300-350, but technically I could stretch to include a PSU if you guys think that's wise. I was a bit cautious there, anywho.

The purpose of the machine is for a mid-range gaming PC for my younger brother. I don't expect he'll be wanting to max games like Skyrim or whatever, but it would help if he could at least run a few of the newer ones on low-med settings.

If the GPU is an issue, that's fine, because he can aim for a better one at a later date-- so far I just want him to be able to run it and whatnot in time for Christmas.

The PSU came with the case, I believe. It's a Macron MTP-400P.

This is without PSU:

YOUR BASKET
1 x MSI GeForce GTX 660 OC Twin Frozr 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £159.95
1 x Intel Core i3-2120 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor - Retail £89.99
1 x Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £75.98
1 x Corsair XMS3 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (CMX8GX3M2A1600C9) £29.99
Total : £367.31 (includes shipping : £9.50).

I think you could get a lesser GPU, but the it's up to you. It's one of the best for the money on the Nvidia side. AMD, someone else will have to point you in that direction.

I can't find any reviews for the power supply in question, but I would be inclined to buy something like an Antec True Gamer 400W as generally PSU's that come with a case are...
