As the title suggest i think I have finalised what i want to get, I would appreciate any comments e.g if it is inbalanced or I have forgotten something!

(n.b I realise the PSU is a bit overkill currently, but I was thinking I would set up a 5850 crossfire in a year or two, so will need the extra power then.)

here is the spec

Second the Seasonic, both are perfectly fine however. Otherwise looks great.

Except that you're lacking a CPU cooler. (Unless you're staying stock on purpose)

i wasnt sure if i needed one?

I am not planning to overclock straight away (i may do in a year or two when the system starts to fall behind)

is their a model you would suggest?

the system would be 'safe' to run as it is though wouldnt it? perhaps this is something i will add later (i have already over-ran my budget!)

sorry only just noticed I had the oem not the retail version in my spec. I may as well go for the retail version as it is only £5 more this week.

should the heatsink and fan that intel provide be fine for now?

I have one critical question regarding my motherboard & DVD drive.

I was planning to re-use my old DVD RW from my dead PC. The drive is 6yrs old and I think it is pre-SATA. will i be able to connect it to this motherboard?
