My Spec

Can someone give their thoughts to this spec? I already have Windows 7 and will use 64bit version. I already have a 22 inch monitor at 1680 x 1050 resolution.

I use PC for games, office stuff and Photoshop stuff.

I don't think I'll go for a SSD yet at the price they're at, and I'm not sure about the PSU - maybe modular would be better? I aim to OC to 4ghz on air. I would also like the PSU, CPU fan to be as silent as possible - I'm not interested in water cooling.

Looks sweet. I've got the Noctua and it's very quiet.

Looks sweet but there are things that I would personally change.

Hard Drive - Change it to a samsung f3 500gb as its the fastest 500gb hard drive on the market.
Thermal Paste- imo, i would use the mx 3 or as5 insted of the mx 2.
Cpu fan - Great fan, but would look into a H50

IS it worth setting up a raid 0 with the Samsung f3?

It is yes, a single drive has 120mb read and write, so in raid you could get up to 250/240mb read. Although, If 1 drive fails, you have lost your data.

Think I will get the 2nd hard drive for raid 0. Can you guys recommend a quiet modular PSU for the spec?

Very good psu and is up for the job of your build.

Excellent build and is up fpr 2 5870's ;P.
Be-quite is also a good make for psu's but don't offer the 7 year warrenty that corsaid offer.

On most mobos yes. What kind of speakers, headphones or system will you be using for sound?

The onboard sound are improving and are good quality for onboard. Depends how fussy you are tho
