My Surfshark subscription is about to expire. Is there such a thing as a reliable, fast free vpn?

There are a few threads on overclockers about VPNs. Useful, yes, but thought I'd ask for more recent opinions or recommendations.
Free would be nice.
Paid is probably more realistic. Cheap would be nice :)
What are your experiences with VPN providers?

Do you have a topcashback account?

Not up till now. When I went to that link, I was asked by that site for BACS info. I was offered the option to use my paypal address. I did that, then created a password for it. Presumably that means I now have a topcashback account?
Forgive my lack of worldlyness in these things. I'm an old fart.

Edited for: spelling errors (plenty more to come:)

Check in your account under "earnings dashboard" or something to that effect, your cashback should show up in there, but keep in mind it can take a couple of days for it to appear.

Also scout around the site and see if you can find the subscription settings, the default one will deduct £5 off your first offer (which it may well be too late to undo, but turn it off anyway as the value added is irrelevant).

Your cashback will usually be available to withdraw after a month or so, but some pay quicker and some take longer, luck of the draw.

Thank you.
I'll have a look in a bit. Just about to 'av me tea.

Also worth mentioning that cash back isn’t guaranteed.
Eh? Not guaranteed?
90 percent of £71 is something I'd rather be sure of before I commit. What's the score here then?

Thanks folks.
I hadn't used Topcashback or Quidco before now.

I originally had a Surfshark account. I cancelled my autorenewal with Surfshark and I've just signed up to Topcashback and purchased Surfshark again via links in Topcashback with 75% cashback.

Here's hoping it all works out....
