Hi guys, so I recently built my very first PC and it went rather well and surprisingly easier than I expected. I'm looking forward to adding to it more!

My build thus far is:

Corsair 300R Windowed Case
MSI Z87 GD65 Motherboard
Intel i5 4670K
RipjawsX Series 2 x 4 GB DDR3-2133
Corsair Builder Series CXM 600W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze
Samsung 840 EVO 120GB SSD
Toshiba DT01ACA200 2TB 7200rpm 3.5 inch Serial ATA 3.0 HDD (Mounted on a VibeFixer)
LG GH24NSB0.AUAA 24x Internal DVD Rewriter
Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo
Corsair Air Series LED AF120 Quiet Edition (Mounted on top)

So far it performs well, as you will have noticed I'm missing a graphics card but at this moment I've had no urgent need for one. I do intend to play a lot more PC games in the future so I would like a sound investment so I've been taking my time over it.

I've had a look at a MSI AMD R9 290 GAMING 4GB Graphics Card which has been on offer recently on another website for a great price which would be a wise investment I think. I do run a dual screen setup and would like the PC to be as future proof as possible without busting the bank. Do any of you guys have any other recommendations? I don't play to spend over £300 for a graphics card, and with Amazon I can get a further 10-12% discount so the 290 mentioned earlier ends up being even cheaper.

Also, if you guys have any other comments regarding my build or would like pictures then let me know. This is my first ever build , I'm still a n00b with regards to overclocking and more advanced procedures but hopefully guys can help. The MB comes with an overclocking program named OC Genie which helps to do it all automatically but I would like to see how far I could push this. I tried getting it to 4.6 but it black screened on me, I think I set the voltages too low/high. Also, does the program automatically overclock the RAM or do I do that manually, if so, how exactly? Is it safe to have it permanently overclocked? Right now it's sitting at about 4.0, I've kept it at this for a good month or so.

Sorry for the long post, hope to hear back from you guys soon!

You'll have to remove the competitor name and price, against the rules.

I think the 290 is a good buy at the current prices.

As for overc locking overs best to use the bios.

Thanks for the heads up, amended my post.

Do you have any other possible graphics cards that would be of similar power and price for a future investment?

I did read up on it but when I tried to overclock setting BIOS values it gave me a black screen so I had to reset my BIOS. I'm not sure what I did wrong. Do you have any experience in OC'ing? Is it safe to OC permanently or will it do more harm than good?
