Well, I am writing just to let people know my opinion of this monitor.

I received the first one about a week ago, unfortunately it had a very uneven backlight, so I called the company and they sent a replacement next day. That one whilst it had an even(ish) backlight, the bottom 3rd of the screen had pink tinting across it (not good!)

I called them again and they sent out another replacement, finally got it, unpacked turned it on, a cluster of dead/stuck pixels in the upper right hand corner.

Another call and today the engineer showed up with replacement no. 4. Turned it on and WOW, excellent uniformity, backlight is pretty uniform ever so slightly brighter on right side but hardly noticable, colours are excellent, and zero dead pixels!!

My impressions of the actual monitor are very good indeed. It turns on really quick and switches between inputs (i have a macbook pro on displayport) very quickly much quicker than my old dell.

It also feels much better build quality IMO. And the picture quality is awesome, just a shame it took 3 monitors to finally get there. Don't think I'll ever be going back down in resolution now I have got used to 2560 x 1600!!

Overall: Thoroughly recommended!! (If you are not unlucky like me and receive 3 duff ones!)

HI mate, I Paid £1020 for it, and I upgraded from a Del U2711, yes the image quality in games is outstanding! If I had only one complaint it's that the monitor is really bright, I mean REALLY bright, I have it set to the lowest brightness and it's still a little bright when using at night, perfect in the day though. I can tweak it down 5% in nvidia control panel and it's ok... maybe it's my eyes!

What were the reasons for the upgrade from the Dell U2711 mate?

I'm weighing up these monitors at the moment and i'm a little worried about the pixel pitch on the Dell. Just think it might be a tad small...

Would be interested to hear your thoughts.
