Apologies for a separate thread, but I can't find a 'general tattoo' one, only people making their own.

Anyway, I've had all day session number 2 on my biomech half sleeve done. Here's a couple of pictures:

Got another 3 hour session to finish off more of the flesh rips and the bit that's currently only line work in July. Looking forward to it, but the inside of your arm hurts like hell compared to the outside.

The orange colours on that are great :)

Yeah the underside of the arm hurts like hell, the closer to the armpit it gets the worse it gets as well . Like a prat i have one all the way round the top of my arm going right into my armpit, the guy doing it asked me if i was sure i wanted it done, its about the only place he doesnt have one :p

Looking good! Looking very good actually.

In before the "what the hell do you think you are doing to yourself" crowd!

Why do you have to wait until July to finish it?

Having an unfinished tattoo for that long would bug me.

Yeah, I'm pleased with the orange and the layering effect. It's by Gerry Carnelly at Octopus Tattoo in Derby.

Cheers for the kind words. I realise it's a bit of a mental tattoo, but I'm generally too sensible, so I thought what the hell, and started plotting it last May, heh. I get a lot of questions along the lines of 'what is it' and I've still not come up with a satisfactory but short answer about man/machine/biomech. Gonna have to work on that.

I took my year 8 football team to a rival school last week, though, and one of their year 7/8 kids saw a bit poking out under my t-shirt and asked me if it was a shark :D

[edit] Gerry is always booked 3 months in advance, so I first booked in Sep 2008, had session 1 in Dec 2008, session 2 yesterday, number 3 in July.

I'm normally a single colour tatto sort of person, but i have to say i love the colour contrasts and vibrancy, though i dont know what its surposed to be...

It's just a blending of various metallic structures and biomechanical ideas inspired by the Terminator and Alien vein of films and related sci-fi. Though, personally, I sorta think the central wheel looks very 'N64/Extreme G-ish' and the 'cannon' bit on the left looks either like a CCTV camera or a Star Trek-esque nacelle.

i can appreciate it from a technical perspective but im not a fan of the design or the colours, a bit too garish imo.

Really like that and think it will look great when it is all complete!! Be sure to get some pics up when it's done!!

Cheers guys.

When it's finished in July it'll have taken two and a half days and cost me £650. Having a decent laugh at the response my t-shirt is generating too, haha :D

Not normally a fan of tattoo's but that does look good. What happens if you ever start hitting the gym though?
