I up graded to i5 a few day ago and so did my frend he also ordered the Corsair h50 and i ordered a new swiftech block now hears the thing on stock his tems was 22c and mine 30c now sincs i have the proper water cooling system shouldn’t i be getting 22c. I always thought these compact water cooling system whernt that good or is this Corsair h50 better than a 4 component loop. Btw i’m not new to water cooling so i know it’s set up right.

It's the load temps that are important and also how they compare when things get interesting, like under heavy clock and higher voltages.

Idle temps are not that important as long as they're within tolerence - your chip could simply run slightly hotter than your friends at idle. Having said that it's idling at a respectable 30C.

For example, your chip in his system could run at 30+ degrees - not all chips run at the same temps, different sensors, etc...

How do the load temps compare?

true but i lowerd my stock voltages when i noticed the 8c difference and it still stayed at 30c (29c ish) but it bugs me that a compacte kit has got lower temps than my 4 componecnt loop grrrr, i'll overclock and post an update about this

Hehe, you have unnecessary temp envy ;)

I wouldn't get hung up about it - the forums are full of freakishly good results with the H50. (Reviews and forum banter make it an appealing bit of kit.)

I may even get one for one of my rigs, but if i had the inclination or the time time i would prefer to go fully underwater, like yourself. And as long as it enabled me to get a very respectable clock with near silence i wouldn't be worried how my idle temps compared to an H50 on a different chip.
