Just built new rig; E6600, BX2, Tuniq 120, 8800GTX, inside a V1000+II. Not oc'd yet. Loaded up Core Temp and I'm getting temps as below. This seems quite low, not that I'm complaining, but is this normal, or will they rise significantly? Tuniq fan is only on low. Just curious if this is better than average, normal or what...?

CPU Speed CPU#0 (Core#0) CPU#0 (Core#1)

thats exelent.

i run a a sythe ninja fanless and it idles 29c :)

looks like you might have a slightly off IHS contact with the cores.

but its fine tho them are good temps

if you overclock keep the temps below 60c

Mmmm...got the below reading in TAT and it's more exagerated. Would it be justified to clean and reapply the AS5 and reposition the heatsink, or would that be an over reaction??

hmmm.

what thermalpaste did you use etc?

its probibly because of bad IHS contact tho nothing you can do about it if it is.

even so tho the temps r good

those temps are absolutely awesome, I wish my idle temps were that low. I will have to buy a new heatsink first though

I used AS5. Maybe one side of Tuniq is not screwed down properly. It is a tough one to screw in fully. Or maybe AS5 is thicker (or thinner) over the hotter core. I assume CPU-0 is the top core - i.e they are one above each other on the CPU?

Temps are good yes, so no big worries. Not seen such a big discrepency on other people's set-ups though, so got me a bit concerned. When it comes to oc'ing though, and temps go up, I hope it's not going to cause problems.
