Hey all,

I've just put my upgrades in on my comp

Zalman CNPS10X Extreme CPU Cooler
i7 3770k (not oc'ed)
Gigabute Z77-D3H
8GB Corsair Vengeance LP
SSD 128GB Samsung 830
Zalman CNPS10X Extreme CPU Cooler

I've been running prime95 for about 20-25 mins now and my temps seem a little high for me considering it's not oc'ed, not sure though so I'm here to ask what you guys think...

Min: 30-32c
Max: 65-70c
Hovering around: 60-65c

Idle my temps stay around 30-38c

Cheers :)

my 3770k on a H100 @ stock idles at 29-34c and load 44c so gains on a liquid colled solution wont be much better!

Stressed under prime95 @ stock 60c

Hows the airflow on your case?
Maybe some cable management?

If you don't plan to overclock, even a high-end water setup will only lower those temps by a few degrees. Ivybridge has a higher thermal rating than previous chips. The cores may run hotter but there is less overall heat being generated. You just need to convince yourself that 70c is the new 50c with Ivybridge :)

Yeah, my cables are all behind in the cable management area... maybe I could try some other tim but as others are saying, I can't see it making much difference :(

The case I'm using is the Cooler Master CM-690

Setup for them is two top fans are blowing air out, back fan is blowing air out, front fan is taking air in and side panel has 1 fan which is taking air in ...

Maybe some ideas for altering the fans?

Once again, cheers for all the info its greatly appreciated :)!

I have a full custom watercooled loop

3770k @ 4.5ghz - watercooled
2 gtx 670 watercooled
240 Rad
360 Rad
D5 pump

My temps are hitting a max of around 80-81 degrees after around 3 hours on Prime. This seems high to me. @ 4.6ghz it starts going up to 85 after 20mins. Feel like ive wasted a lot of money on liquid cooling

if you want cold temps on ivy you need to de-lid the CPU and replace the TIM that intel used

sandybridge and previous / other manuf. CPU's are soldered to the heat spreader but intel in their infinite wisdom decided to use TIM instead on ivybridge... some people have used liquid pro or something similar and seen 10C+ drops in temp

when looking at core temp, should i be more concerned with the max temp or what it hovers around.

example, after 11hours prime on a 4.6ghz OC. My max temp on one core was 87. It never reached 87 again after about 6 hours in. I know this because i ran real temp after around 6 hours.

The temps were hovering around high 70's. I have read up on replacing the TIM. I just dont feel comfortable doing it yet.
