Merry crimbo to ye all, just thought i'd post my efforts to reduce the dyson-like effects going on inside my case
The offending intake fan dissasembled:
Dissection of tights
Material holding itself in place:
Cyanocrylate glue (superglue):
Dab of glue:
Trimming excess with a new blade:
Excess nearly all trimmed:
Happy with the result:
Re-assembled fan unit in side panel:
New look:
Final shot with lights on:
I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, airflow is reduced but not substantially so.
I am kicking myself for choosing superglue when deep down I KNOW it frosts clear plastics. Some subtle finger-print marks of CA made its way onto the side panel and I had to clean with nail polish remover but this didn't work 100%. Overall I am pleased with the mod and look forward to seeing how much dust it catches
