As some may have read from my other posts, I took receipt of a Mk2 Rev3 MR2 during the week..

Non-import, fully loaded GTi-16 TBar with leather interior.. I've got a great big grin on my face whenever I drive it and the sound of the exhaust gives me the giggles!!

Pics below:-

I just need to finish sorting out the insurance (running on a temp policy for last few days) and change those front indicators and i'm the happiest bunny

Very nice chris :D Looks like you found a nice one, the MR2 definitely suits black and leather is very nice (although not this time of year :p )

Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh

I'll get round to it in a while ;) No one would've noticed if you hadnt pointed it out :o
I saw it and was like ah hes been sold an import when he thinks its a uk car. :( Then you told me it was even the car you was getting.

Looks fantastic, Can i be so bold and ask what the diffrence between the import and uk version of the same age would be?

Looks very nice mate, i'd love one of these but the whole 'engine in the rear' thing puts me right off.

Wrong. ;)

The engine isnt in the rear, its called mid engine for a reason and not rear engined.

Turbo's are only on the GT and GT-S models while the G-Limited is like the UK car with extra goodies and G being a low spec one.

Once the roof is removed, can you place it in the car or are you in for a wet ride if it starts raining??

they go behind the driver and passenger seats mate (well they did on my mk1 mr2)

I've always been a fan of the mr2, nice car, be sure to post once you've de-tango'd those indicators :)

Opps, serves me right for going out last night :p

I might have to wait a while to sort the indicators out, as they are £55 new :o I shall probably wait until someone on IMOC is selling some.

As Mike said above, there is only minor differences between the import spec and UK for my model of car. Largely, its the positioning of the front indicators and a lack of aircon that seperates mine from an import.

Black is so hard to keep clean :( I spent an hour polishing it yesterday morning for a storm to hit yesterday afternoon and now its covered in muddy water marks  I shall be getting the bucket and sponge out today!

And the T-Bars are kept behind the two seats, yes. I tried and tested the alarm yesterday so now I can park up in work with the roof off and no bugger can get into the car :D

this is one of the major differences between UK and jap market cars.typically UK cars will almost always have ABS and rarely have Air Con whereas Jap cars usually have air con but rarely have ABS.
there are exceptions to this but as a general rule of thumb it seems to hold true.
:)

Well quite, yes! I've already had a couple of fat pigeons empty their load over my bonnet and engine cover

*goes away to install auto-firing anti-pigeon gun*
