My tvs dead

My tv suddenly went the other day. I has a few white lines running up and down the screen and it makes an awful noise any ideas whats gone on it. Its a decent tv and not under warranty any idea how much it is to get it fixed?

CRT/LCD/Plasma? Model? It's most likely dead in any case.

edit: it's worth getting in touch with the manufacturer, they'll help you if they can. If it's relatively new (failure within an unreasonable timespan) then the consumer goods act should cover you.

its a couple of years old so i doubt it will be convered in any way. Its a crt sharp tv.

When i switch it on no picture is showed on the screen, then it makes a crackling noise every few seconds.

Ive not got a whole lot of money atm so if its less than £100 to get fixed i think it would be worth it as i doubt i can bu another 32" tv for that price.

ive got a local tv repair place near me but thought id post before getting it in my mates car and hauling it down there.
