After using it for 1 month, I have came to the conclusion that a normal Ultimate install will leave to with masses of crap which you would never use like Parental Controls, Bit Locker and more. I have now vLiteted my Vista and I am now in the process of reformatting the Vista drive :p and this will hopefully lead to a fast Vista install.

A lot of people like Vista, and they have young ones around the house who use the Parental Controls, that is why these features are built in.

And BitLocker is a good feature I here!

Can't they be removed from Add/Remove Windows Components like in XP?

Good luck installing SP1 on a VLited Vista.

yup, i learned the hard way trying that, can add to vlite, but remove any thing & sp1 wont install.

Whatdo you expect? You bought the Ultimate edition and you're worried about more features then you'll use?

Well - personally I'd be tempted to use the word "bought" in the losest term, but then that would be accusing of something I had no proof of.

Those people that do buy the OS, in 90% of the cases see that Home Premium offers exactly what they need and is a lot cheaper.

You could usually tell a WinXP owner who had bought his OS as he was the one using XP Home as it cost less and offered everything they needed.

That's a bit unfair, I have Vista ultimate installed but i didn't buy. I downloaded it off works MSDN, same might be true here.

You say would be accusing the OP of obtaining the OS illegally...well, you are. You're right, you do not have any proof of such a statement and the above is a bit unfair of you, don't you think?

I used XP home because i was broke back then, i use Vista Ultimate now because nowadays i'm not. Condescending asshat is what i get from reading your post, perhaps it wasn't intended but that's how it comes across.

"Oooh he has something shiny and expensive he doesn't need, he mst have stolen it!!"

We could always do a poll on who is using a genuine, correctly licensed version of windows vista...
