I have Vista64 on my desktop, Vista Business on my work laptop and Vista Home Premium on my personal laptop. None of them crash or BSOD, i have drivers for everything, all my apps work and it is running quickly enough for me not to get frustrated.

Just thought I would mention it

It could be your PSU, I heard online that lots of people had the same issue.

Wait...

WAIT A SECOND...

!

my mac hasn't crashed since i've owned it, I've never installed a driver, i've never defragged it and my productivity is higher.

Mines been flawless since it's release. Never had an issue with it at all so far.

How do you know your productivity is higher? BTW I've never ever defrag, waste of time IMO.

As for never installing a driver that's one of the few pluses to a closed system

i dualboot xp/vista both installed at the same time

granted vista is the 64 version so uses all my system but either way

power on to desktop takes 20seconds less than xp and you can get working straight away in vista

wouldnt like to manage a network of vista machines though
i like xp pro and server 2k3 too much
just hope work doesnt change its upgrade plans for a while!!!

I was running vista 32 and never had a problem until I got my 8800GT, I have issues with PES2008, when I play online it doesn't work (probably something to do with Nvidia drivers). Other than that it was spot on, but I'm back on XP until SP1.

how would your graphics card drivers affect your online play only exactly?????

During the point when you're selecting teams and the little clock at the bottom right hand corner is counting down, well when both players have selected teams and it transitions to the loading screen. That clock still shows however it has completely stopped, it feels like a graphical glitch. As a result I end up with the "Connection to player lost, cancelling match" screen. It works perfectly in XP though :/ so I'm hoping it's sorted asap as vista runs extremely well on my computer.

I have the 32bit version purely for DX10, it OK, once you get rid of all the network tuning going on in the background, disable IPv6, the UAC and as much of the eye candy as possible :p

Indeed, I think thats outweighed by the fact its closed...but then I know what I'm doing, of course.

But a closed system will always have a better, more streamlined user experience. The problem is keeping on the right side of competition laws.
