My Website Search Result.

Hey guys,

One of my sites has now made it to the top search result on Google

But…

It only displays the URL at the bottom as ‘mydomain.co.uk’ not http://www.mydomain.co.uk as I’d like it to

The rest of the meta info is displaying okay, so I’m assuming its another meta tag that I have to add/amend to get it to display it more accurately?

I think I’m on the right lines, but would anyone care to confirm it for me

Try going to:
http://www.google.com/webmasters/sitemaps/?hl=en_GB

You can change whether it has www.domain.co.uk or domain.co.uk from there I think

Hmm, I'd already looked at doing that through Google - but I'm sure there’s a way of doing it through your code so it displays correctly :confused:

it's a common occurence

use apache .htacess to divert anything http://mydomauin.com to http://www.mydomain.com

after about 14 days google will update your listing to the wwws

Thanks mate - I'm also going to get onto my hosters, Streamline, who are usually full of answers, but I always like to ask the experts here first

this snippet of code will do it

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mydomain.com [NC]
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mydomain.com/$1 [L,R=301]

put that in .htaccess and put in your hosting account
