My Windows 10 just upgraded itself to Windows 10 again?

I've been using Windows 10 since release day, I did an upgrade from Windows 8.1. I just went to have a shower after leaving computer unattended for 15 minutes and came back and saw some updates installing, but the updates kinda took 20 minutes to install and there was a circle on the screen with percentage going on, I think the same when I did the upgraded from Windows 8.1.

When I got back to Windows it kinda all looked like I just upgraded to Windows 10 again. I had the welcome messages etc.

How on earth is this even possible?

Click start, type cmd, hit enter.

This will tell you your current build number. Windows update does it. It's a good thing.

cmd shows it too ;)

Lies :p. Unless the 17 bit at the end doesn't count...

My system hasn't updated itself to this latest build, it doesn't find it either when searching for new windows updates

Are you on the fast or slow ring for updates?

Click Start / Settings / Update and Security / Click Advanced / Choose Fast and then re-scan for updates.

This is why I hate automatic updates with limited user configuration (though you can configure it to delay to a degree) if you are in a hurry to do something before work for instance you can almost guarantee an update is going to kick in...
