Would you alter anything on there? the reason I havent included a graphics card is cos I have just bought a sapphire 3870 card

How does intel cope with all 4 mem slots used up?.. cos 8gb of mem would be better.lol

edit: monitor is ment to be a 22"

I would buy a different motherboard for a few reasons but mainly because the Nforce 680i chipset has been superceded and you are going to be using an ATI graphics card which totally negates the possibility of SLi (and therefore reason for using the 680i in the first place).

Something based on the P35 chipset should do or if you have a reason then an X38 or X48 based motherboard would also be an option.

Intel systems cope a lot better with having all Ram slots filled than A64 systems used to.

What board would you recommend, bearing in mind that I will have last 3 diff graphics cards in it over the yrs? but the board has to have the mem slots well away from the cpu so the freezer wont be blocking any slots, A guy also said I should go for the 2.83 GHz, 1333MHz FSB, 12MB Cache cpu.. How far would that clock to?

Edit: Thats if and a big IF, my wish list comes true..

Abit, Asus and Gigabyte all make good motherboards, if you are likely to keep the system for a while then an X38 based system begins to make sense, although it is more expensive it does support PCI-E 2.0 which the P35 doesn't.

I don't know about how far the CPU will clock I'm afraid, I haven't been following the 45nm for their clocking as yet.

Ive had 6800gt sli cards(total waste of money), x1900xt(the best) and the 3870(dissapointed) in my current sys over the yrs. so I want another board that will take whatever I thow at it.
