My wrt54gs is maxed out....

... and I'm not getting my full speed over a wired connection.

My Cable broadband (60/3) is proving to be a bit beefy for my WRT54GS v5.1 / DD-WRT v24-sp2 (12/31/12) micro - build 20453.

All speed tests show 40Mbps :/

I suppose I dont need a wifi router though as I can use the wrt as just an AP

Which wired router, preferably Linksys/Cisco, do you guys suggest I replace it with?

Needs to be DDWRT compatible.

Budget? Lots are suggesting Acer RT-N66U, but it's moderately expensive.

The Asus RT-N16 would work as well and is around £40 cheaper if the RT-N66 is out of your budget range.

you're lucky to get 40, my parents would max at about 30 after their upgrade to 60mb. The n56u is good but quite expensive.
