Are the Optimize Daily, Weekly and Monthly options any good, or should i just not bother with them and just stick with Defragment only?

Thanks

What is this optimization actually doing? Doing it daily is a bit overkill id have thought, since day to day you are unlikely to knacker any optimizations it has already done the day before.

What OS are you running? If Windows 7 or Vista just let Windows handle it. No need for 3rd party tools.

Until someone proves that on Windows 7 you're better off with 4rd party I'm sticking with the built in defrag - it's not like it's a server being trashed constantly.

Why does it even matter? Set it to do it overnight or when you aren't likely to be using your computer. It is automatically on a schedule so you do not even have to remember to do it. However, as it happens it is fairly quick, especially once it gets on top of any major fragmentation. My discs have rarely been more than 1 or 2% fragmented whenever I have bothered to check, and they're usually after prolonged periods of me moving files around.

I run them all weekly, one after the other, on a saturday morning.

I don't leave my PC on, and don't want it bothering me on an evening.

Normally spend saturday catching up on TV.
