MySQL still free???

Is MySQL still free??? I've been on the site and it seems to have changed a lot since i was last on it, and it seems to be charging?

Also, does anyone have any good basic guides for setting up and administering MySQL?

It's still free, yeah, they just charge for support (like most open source software).

Consider using an all-in-one installer like XAMPP unless you're doing this purely to learn about installing MySQL

Ok thanks. The link you've posted there seems to point to version 5.0. What is the reason for this? Are the +/- or this version that you prefer or is this the last free version or something?

It appears the latest version is version 7.6.

The latest version is most definitely 5.0
