Are N based Routers safe to buy as it were as I've seen that these are draft versions or something at the moment?

I need to buy a new Router and I've seen this N based Belkin Router which I'm considering...

Is N worth buying now as in will it be reliable due to this draft thing?

Do you suggest any other Wireless Routers for BT connections that I should be looking at?
Needs to be suitable for online gaming and connecting 4 Wireless clients (2 Desktops, 1 Laptop and a PS3) maybe changing my PC from Wireless to Wired in the near future.

Thanks :)

I think that they are starting to come out of the draft stage now as far as I know, I wouldn't go for Belkin as they are a piece of cr*p. The best N router to go for I would say is the Netgear DGN2000 or the Billion BiPAC 7800N as they have been reported to offer the best Wireless N range out of any other routers but the Broadcom ADSL chipset in Netgear routers are known to handle ADSL connections very well without any problems.

I've got a Draytek Vigor 2820vn - use N all the time with my EEE, never any problems.

Have seen some draft N routers that don't like to mix G and N rated equipment at the same time though.

Bought the Belkin F5D8633 (Which I linked to in the first post) which came with a Wireless N Adapter that I shall be using for the time being until I can get round to laying an Ethernet cable.

I'm more than sure it was the old Belkin Router as our speed has gone from a reported ~2000kb to just over ~5000kb! Our ISP said we were on a 5mb profile and they were unsure why we were getting ~2mb.

The main problem I had with Belkin routers were constant wireless disconnects and the internet connection loosing the sync around 3 times a day. At the time a mate of mine had the MIMO version of the router while I had the slightly older G+ version (cannot remember the model now) and he had the exact same problems as me. I could not understand why it even kept loosing the sync and I got told that my line stats were very good & shouldnt be disconnecting no way near as often as it did. In the end I took the plunge & upgraded to the Netgear DG834G refurbished router and never looked back. All the wireless drop outs and dropping sync's disappeared, best £35 I have ever spent on a networking device. The strange thing with the Belkin as well was that it always connected at the full 8128k on ADSL max but then ever since I got the Netgear it always connects at a lower 6800k, I think Netgear's can manage and handle sync's very well.

Needless to say I would be interested to hear back once your up & running with the Belkin router and see how well it performs. Maybe they have improved in the last couple of years.
