Evening all 
Basically I'm just after a few tips to get my computer running a bit better because at the moment it seems pretty slow.
I'm by no means retarded but would like some help. Bit of background:
XP2000+
FX5700
700-odd meg of 2700 ram.
40gig HDD with 14gig spare (recently cleared up
).
Now years of neglect has left it a mess, short of doing a complete reinstall what can I do to bring the old girl back to life?
I've just done a defrag and I'm trying to do a "Disk Cleanup" thingy but it doesn't seem to do much, kinda hangs but doesn't...
I'm not sure what I'm expecting here.. so if you have any ideas just throw them at me
