n00b laptop cpu question

Is it possible to run a laptop P4 cpu in a desktop mobo?

Im sure Ive read somehwere it can be done but thought where better to check that with you guys here.

And if so what mobo would I be needing?

Sorry if Ive managed to put this in the wrong section as Im unsure if it belongs in motherboards or cpus

Yes.

Identify the CPU correctly and then find a possible board to suit.

It may be a 479 pin CPU or maybe a 478 pin CPU.

479 pin motherboards are a little rare.

This is why you'll need to properly identify the CPU.
