Hi, go easy on me here,

Running a Intel Quad Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient 95W Edition" 2.40GHz) with an Abit Fatal1ty FP-IN9 SLI, its a new build, and after approx 30secs the computer will turn itself off, i have cleared the cmos, and placed it back into the normal position, which makes the pc boot up but will then switch off again after 30secs, do i have to go into the bios to change cpu settings now? or is it a heating problem? any help would be great thanks!

As soon as you turn on your computer, enter the BIOS and go into the "PC Health Status" and check the temperatures of your CPU and motherboard. Have to be quick however as the machine will turn itself off. Chances are if it is doing that it's possibly heat related, so check temps and report back.

pc isnt with me atm, but will check in the next hour n report back, thx, if it is heat related whats the best thing to do, using an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler (is that sufficient)?

If it's heat related then you may have seated the cooler incorrectly (or whoever seated it) and it's not lying flat and solidly down on the CPU.

The problem was the fan wasn't installed properly, thanks for your help, just installing the software on it, thanks again for your help!
