Howdy :)

An utterly n00b question, but I've had nvidia cards for yonks, and recently grabbed a 4870.

I'm very pleased with the performance of the card so far, but I was wondering what happens in regards to physx when it comes to ATI cards.. will it all be done on the CPU? Is it possible at all to use my old 9600GT as a dedicated PPU? I assume not, as it'd mean having both nvidia and ati drivers, but it's worth a shot :p

Running Vista HP64, if it makes any difference, and cat 8.11's.

Cheers!

Some people have got an nvidia card to work alongside an ATI 3 or 4 series card in both XP and Vista (for physics)... theres no guarantee that it will work tho.

At this stage there aren't enough games that make use of physx to worry about it tho - hopefully that will change.

I understand that even if it did work, it'd be largely useless.. but I've got a spare 9-series card just lying around, waiting for something to do :)
