N00b question, what refresh rate?

Hi, I dont know anything about monitors at all! I have an old 15" samsung syncmaster 151s and wondered at what refresh rate should I run it? Its running at max res 1024x768 @ 60hz at the moment, is this correct? What does changing the refresh rate do?

yes, 60hz is the recommended and optimum refresh rate for a TFT
