Hi all. So this will be the second time in my life I've ever water cooled anything. The last time was when I build a Athlon XP rig with a Lian Li fish tank window and water cooling kit in 2003.

So basically some one has donated loads of free gear to me. Here is what it is.

2 pumps (not sure on model).
2 cylindrical res (not sure on model)
240 rad
140 rad

So. I assume I need blocks for everything yes? I'm going to cool a 3970x with three Titan Blacks. So blocks, hoses, coolant, fittings?

Anything else I'm missing?

Obviously I will post when I have the stuff to confirm make and models etc.

the recommendations for watercooling if going to overclock would be 240-280mm of cooling per high end component.

So not only blocks you will need more cooling. i would say the 240 would be sufficient for the cpu. but if doing cpu + mobo you would probably want to add in the 140 as well.

for the 3 gpus i would be saying 480 rad equivalent in cooling

Hi. Thanks for the reply.

I'm not cooling the board or ram. Right now I'm running a H110 on the CPU and the temps are more than acceptable as well as the clocks (4.7-4.9ghz) so I really don't need to clock any higher.

Given I'm getting two pumps and two res then it would be a good idea to separate the loops and run two yes? so one for the CPU and one for the board?

In which case all I need before I buy anything else is a nice big rad to cool the GPUs?

Blocks
Coolant
fittings
drainage fittings
tubing

*optional*
Flow meter
temp sensor

You can go as complicated or simple as possible, but two loops = more points to fail.

Try find the model of the pumps should be a sticker on them will give you an idea if you need both, or just one

should be pretty good pumps then, I'd wager you would only need one pump and to do a single loop for the entire system. It will be less hassle putting it together especially if you are rusty with watercooling. Less points of failure and you will always have a back up pump in case the first goes

Once it arrives I'll post model numbers and pics etc.

Apparently they're EK/Phobya square pumps.

Sounds like DCP pumps,as far as im aware these are the only ones that are phoyba branded.

Should be ok to run the entire loop with one if they are 4.0 models.

For rad space your gonna want at least a 360mm and 240mm.

What case are you using?

ATM my Cosmos 2 though that could easily change in time.
