N1 Wireless ExpressCard

After buying the N1 wireless router i bought the N1 Wireless express card for my laptop. The slot in my laptop is bigger than the card, but i was under the impression i could fit it to the left of the slot and it would work, however the green lights on the card are not coming on and the computer is not finding it. has anyone has installed one before, or know what i might be doing wrong?

What slot is your laptop? PCMCIA?

I thought so, il have to check through the manuals etc to make sure when i get home. If it PCMCIA, what would be the problem if it works at all?

You're trying to put an ExpressCard into a PCMCIA slot?
They're not at all compatible. The only hope is that you haven't broken the slot...

how do i tell the differnce from the two? are the pins the same? because my express card seems to fit in. On my dell laptop its completely differnt
