N73 adding words to dictionary

as title really, I add a word, for EG: Vicky and it remembers it during the typing of that text message but thats it, Come to type it again and it does not remember it.

Anyway of adding it to the dictionary so it is always there ???

I cannot find it under options etc.

At first mines always remembered words i had to "spell" myself but over the past few days it's been making me "spell" them again and it seem's to remember them at first but i find myself having to "spell" them again within a few txts!....What the hell!?

It's annoying me now!

Exactly!!!, Like Rhonda, and Vicky, never remembers them.

never seen this problem, only thing i can say is are you properly storing them useing the "spell" function?

also try switching off and on the phone.

by the way what firmware version is installed on there?
(type *#0000# on the phone and it's usually on the first line)

Phone gets switched on and off frequently.
Also use the "spell" function, still not saving the names.

hi, there is a version 3.0705.1.0.31 which is what i flashed onto my mates N73 (although that is actually the Media edition) and done though my proper phone equipment, not the Nokia Software updater.

On that phone, it saves and seems to work fine.

The latest normal version taht i can get hold of is: 3.0704.1.0.1, not sure if that's available though the Nokia updater though i would hope it is!!

Does it only do that for that/those particular word(s) or for all new words?

just to make sure you haven't done anything silly, when you recall the word, do you press exactly this: 84259 for Vicky or 746632 for Rhonda?
(please don't take offence, but i know some people who for some reason type it as if the predictive text is off and wonder why it don't work!! i.e. incorrectly like this: 888 444 888 55 999 for Vicky or 777 44 666 66 3 2 for Rhonda)

No i use predictive text, so for vicky it should be 84259 etc and then press the "change word" button but nothing, yeah, does it for most words.

well only thing i can suggest is to try doing update again (don't forget to back everything up off the phone)

hopefully the newer firmware becomes available.

if it is a real problem, i actually can do the update ot the latest version for you or even to Media Edition, but just contact me though trust if you want that doing.
