N73 speed camera s/ware

my mate has this phone ( very nice too ) and wants to know if there is any speed camera detection s/ware available for it . hes not bothered about sat nav .

They're one and the same!...

You need a radar detector built into the phone (or plugged in somehow!) to 'Detect' the cameras (I don't think such a thing/phone exists!).

But sat-nav (like TomTom) use a Points of Interest (POI's, just like the Garages/Shops/National Trust Sites locations) Database (that needs regular updating) of the camera positions!...

get a tomtom navigator 6 for symbian phones.. comes with a gps receiver too. it's got safety camera feature, exactly the one you are looking for. but its quite expensive though..

Or just buy a GPS reciver with speed camera warnings built in, leave it on your dash board and forget about it. Think they are £70 odd, or so.
