Is there any way of removing the calendar view from the main screen on the Nokia N95?

Bugger! The wife doesn't use it, just hoped it could be hidden/removed, oh well!

Sadly it looks like you cant, ive had a look through mine ie settings and couldnt find anything that would allow you to hide/disable the calendar app.

This gets rid of everything on the front screen:

Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby Mode

Then select Active Standby to Off

He just wants shot of the calendar, not the entire active standby. I too want to be able to get rid of the calendar, but keep the active standby icons. It's a simple setting that Nokia have pointlessly left out.

I'm pretty certain you can change it on the E65, and pg79/80 of the N95 manual seems to indicate you should be able to swap the calender for another app at least ( unless its one of the fixed apps mentioned in the manual but that may be down to network branding rather than the phones capabilities).

You should be able to go to Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby Mode > Active standby apps....

Sorry if that's a bit vague but like I said i'm going off the E65 active standby features

Yeah having thought about it today I think i might of got the wrong end of the stick , I thought we were talking about the shortcut to the calender app but it occurred to me the OP might have been refering to the "no calender events today" message further down.

So basically ignore me :D

LOL ok been having more of a play on my E65 and think i've figured it out on that ;)

go to where i said before

Settings > General > Personalisation > Standby Mode >

then scroll down past active standby apps and there should be another one labelled "active standby plug-ins" , go into there and untick "organiser" and possibly "to-do" as that is linked to calender as well I think.

Bob's your mother's brother then I think - combined with what i posted earlier you should be able to remove all traces of the calender from the normal display.

The plug-ins option is only available on E series phones.
