Want to use my new N95 for sat nav. Not to sure where to start. Used google and that didnt help to much. Just pointed to a couple of forums that said route 66 is best.

What do you use, and how easy is it to use? There are some copies for sale on ebay will these work in non-offical copies?

Whats the std Nokia softwear like, any good?

Thanks

I found the standard Nokia maps to be ok but Im now using Navigon MobileNavigator 6 which is far superior. Cost me £69.99 but it's great.

I will be purchasing Navigon Mobile navigator 6. From what i have read its seems to be one of the best Sat nav programs for the N95, and very well priced. Just need to wait for V12 firmware to arrive for my T-Mobile N95

I'm with T-Mobile and still on v11. The GPS works fine but it takes a minute or so to get a signal.
Just be a aware, MobileNavigator is a 2.6gb download.

Also on t-mobile. On web n walk now actually. Web browser on it isnt half bad. Would a 'copy' me the software from ebay work or am I going to have to get ex wallet out? Thanks

I am currently using Garmin Mobile XT and have used Route 66 as well. They are both good for a phone app, with Garmin offering speed cameras POI which route 66 does not. They both suffer from a slight delay in live tracking using the internal GPS, but still adequate.

I too use ROUTE66 and it's really good - I used it from Torquay to Bolton and it worked a treat - just ensure you get a cigarette lighter charger, and a decent cradle.

I was really surprised how well it worked - no delay or anything, was brilliant.

I also would point out I upgraded the N95 operating system to the latest one, and the reception from the satellites increased hugely.
