Hi all,

I am due an upgrade very soon from T-Mobile. I'm on the Flext 35 package with Web n Walk and it was an 18 month contract. Has anyone any ideas on how much they are likely to charge for the phone?

I'm thinking of upgrading to the Flext 50 package when I ring them regarding my handset upgrade. I'm hoping they offer me the phone for free.

I would recommend waiting for the n95 8gb, the original n95 is poop :)

Why is the original one poop mate. The phone gets a lot of stick but had mine the first day it came out. I have had to update the firmware once but since then its been the best one I have owned by a long way. I might even hold onto it and not be in a rush to upgrade. The onboard gps isnt worth getting excited about granted. But the processor on board the phone handles everything I throw at it, SNES emulator, Doom, TomTom, Some great java games IE Speedball2, Sonic etc.. The onboard WIFI is a godsend too. Not many phones on the market offer so much...

Hardly poop! Its pretty much exactly the same phone inside - although Id love the 8gb version of course. The important differences are - 8gb memory, doubled RAM, bigger screen, fixed slider and better looking black. (However there is no camera cober and no SD micro slot in the 8gb).

Dont forget better battery life !

why would you hope to?
generally upgrades cost quite a bit more than new joiners, also, your upgrade price will be calculated on what you are worth to them.

i got my n95 on upgrade just over a week ago, i paid £35 or so, but that was with a '£100' discount.

If i have been with them for 18 months I'll be wanting to get the same deal as new users or better. If they say no leave.

I upgraded on one of my Flext contracts last week and got a 8600 Luna for free. They wanted £169.99 for it originally. So if you know what to say to them you can get a good deal.

For me the extra RAM is the most important improvement. N95 is partially usable as it is, but the browser keeps crapping out on me, which will be solved by the doubled ram.

Apparently the N95 8gb will have 128mb RAM, and the next gen even more - 256Mb as standard - good stuff.

I got my N95 for £60 on release, so id be hoping to get it for free by now. Especially as the 'list' price was £150 back then and its only £40 now.

Edit: That was on the same tarrif as you.

you will only get a good deal if you are worth it to the company, initially they will try to offer you as little as possible. if you arent worth much, you wont be able to 'haggle' much. every customer has a value attached to them.
knowing what to say can maximise your deal, but it wont garentee an amazing deal.

See I am on the Flext 35 which isn't a mega expensive tarrif anyways but I get 50% off my monthly bill. Wonder if they will use that against me as obviously I will be worth 50% less than a normal customer.

I am however going to be upgrading to the Flext 50 with Web N Walk. I'll be doing that when I call them to upgrade.

Yeh I know all that :)

I dont go above my Flext 35 spend and only had to haggle for five minutes and threaten to leave to orange.
