Basically thinking about getting one of these bad boys when its released.
And tv licenses are not needed if the device is powered off its own battery, so think there would be some cable attachments meaning i could connect it to my monitor?

Also heres some clause that Ive allways thought about, one leaflet I received states you need one for a pc/laptop. But it also says you dont need one if the arial is powered off its own battery, so surely watching tv on your laptop using the battery as a power source is legal?

Your wrong, you need a License:

You need a TV Licence to use any television receiving equipment such as a TV set, digital box, DVD or video recorder, PC, laptop or mobile phone to watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV.

you don't need a SEPERATE license if it's running off batteries
It's covered by your home license.

So you still need one.

As mentioned, the N96 uses the DVB-H TV standard. DVB-H get switched on in the UK until the analogue TV signal is turned off in 2012.

Italy has DVB-H already though.

well thats a pointless thign for the UK market...and there goes my idea for somehow hooking it up to my monitor.
And i know that if you have say a portable tv, like handheld thingy, then its covered under the license of your main residence, so because i havnt changed my main residence from out of my parents home i would still be covered by them =]
