With the ups and downs of the N97, how do people think the condensed version of the phone is going to do??
To be fair it feels allot nicer in the hand and the menus seemed pretty decent.

Nokia also tell us that it going to be VERY competively priced (allot lower than the N97)

Are people excited about it at all?!?!
Im feeling maybe its missed the boat with the launch of things like the Dext ect and imenent launch on the Sony E flagship in next couple of weeks!?

Maybe just me?

Presumably it's identical to the normal N97 in terms of software, interface etc? If so, I'm not particularly interested, the N97 looks very dull and clunky compared to other smartphones out these days.

From what i can gather the only thing that suffered on the change in size was the internal memory
Mini only has 8gb internal, again with mico sd slot for an expansion of up an additional 16gb

The rep was also quite keen to point out the materials its made from is a much higher quality than the N97

As previously mentioned i personally thing Nokia missed the boat with this, whilst will appeal to many Nokia diehards, there just other phones that excite me more currently!

The problem with this and the original is both look like toys, they may be brilliantly put together but the shape is very remenicent of the £80 slide out phones that have been around. Not really "business" (read expensive) looking phones IMO.

Which SE phone do you mean? The Satio?

For perhaps the first time ever, I'm actually not looking forward to upgrading my phone in a few months. There's hardly anything out there that really impresses me at the moment; it seems like virtually every decent smartphone has at least one significant problem or annoyance.

If only the HTC Hero was available on Vodafone, it's my firm favourite at the moment.

Yea the satio
Had a play with that, its very nice.
Shame its not android! ;)

The Satio is a very good phone. I personally wouldnt recomend a N97 to any one after the trouble i had. The Satio thread is worth a read mate.

have you looked into the N900?

I have, it's looking very nice but assuming it'll be released around the same time as I become eligible for upgrade, I doubt Vodafone will be too willing to budge on letting me have it cheap. I will keep an eye on it though, for sure.

After having the N96 I really can't say I am excited, with the amount of N97's going back for repairs it's probably not going to be much better. And I can't stand the how pants the symbian software is, I'm not sure if the N97's still use but it's so carp and looks completely outdated now, specially when you compare to the likes of Windows Mobile 6.5, Andriod and iPhone OS 3.1.

Has anyone got one of these from Vodafone? I'd like to know if it comes unlocked to all networks please.
I've got one from them on upgrade to sell on so would need to know but I want to keep it all sealed to see "brand new".
Thanks
