I cannot find any answers to this quick question. The agent advises it should only be installed on a clean system. So how do I install the agent on a used system?

I think so. It is the linux-nrpe-agent and I am running the ./fullinstall.

The full textwhen running the script is:

============================
Nagios Linux Agent Installer
============================

This script will install the Nagios Linux Agent by executing all necessary
sub-scripts.

IMPORTANT: This script should only be used on a clean installed system:

RedHat Enterprise, CentOS, Fedora, or Oracle
OpenSUSE or SUSE Enterprise
Ubuntu or Debian

Do NOT use this on a system running any other distro or that
does not allow additional package installation.

Seems like Nagios just covering their ass. What OS are you installing the agent on?

Nagios XI/Core should only be setup on a clean/new setup. However my Linux admins have got it to work on servers which have been running for years doing other roles.

NRPE is fine just install it and forget :D.

Thanks, unforunately I've run into my 1st issue. The installer fails as firewalld is inactive. All the support I could find say to enable firewalld but I cannot.
