Right, I have got Nagios installed and managed to get it monitoring a windows box

I want to try and get the SNMP functionality working, the documentation says that I need the check_snmp plugin installed

Can someone explain in very simple terms how to get the plugin and install it

I have absolutely no knowledge of Linux commands and have managed to get by so far but I am a bit stuck now

I'm using Ubuntu btw

howler how are you doing on your nagios install? we have a clustered nagios farm setup to monitor servers from multiple sites and it works great. What did you use as your base os and did you lock that down too?

I used Ubuntu for my base OS

Unfortunately we had a server crash last week so it has been put to one side for now
