So first of all take your top 5 games and cast them aside.

Don't go to your usual answers, So for example my go to answers are ALWAYS the MGS series, FF series, RE series, GOW and TLOU.

So no doubt you have games on the end tip of your finger. Dont use those!

For me it's probably going to be Darksiders. It's like Zelda for adults. Some great gore ridden cutscenes and execution moves akin to God of War. The combat system was fantastic, yes it's been done better now by other games. But you had seamless combos, an arsenal of upgradeables. And some epic NPCs and boss fights.

I'm currently enjoying Darksiders - Warmastered edition

My unusual has to devil may cry series. I really enjoy the fast paced action of them.

The original infamous for PS3 was a gem of a game.

Life is Strange, Limbo, Oddworld 1&2, Project Zero/Fatal Frame series, Rayman 2&3, Soul Reaver 2, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift, Syberia, Dishonored, Virtua Fighter 5, Heavenly Sword, Infamous, Trackmania Sunrise and many others:D

I've discarded my top 5 favourite series:p

Bayonetta 2

I finished it last night, and today i started it again from the start. Never have I done that before with any game.

Carnage Heart (PS1).

Strategy game involving designing and building robots, which you then have to program the software they use to fight, using a short of chip board system. Really engrossing and totally unique AFAIK.

Saints Row (3,4 and gat out of hell) there's just something about them that I can keep playing them. Got the platinum on all 3. With most games having a heavy story and cut scenes, it's nice to just play something that's just fun.

In terms of console games, I'd say Shining Force II. It has a few flaws:
-Some battles where you start off miles away from the enemy meaning you spend the first 10mins just moving into combat
-Occasional ridiculously hard fights (Kraken, anyone?)
-Having a large party size is a bit of a waste given that some characters effectively become useless as their level is so low they can never do enough damage to level up

However, in return you get a good RPG with strong storyline, interesting environments and a real sense of epic adventure.

It's old, but discarding my usual fave games, the one that popped into mind was Flashback on the SNES.

Minecraft - bought this for the Kids when they kept going on about it. Blocky graphics and seemingly no "point" to the game didn't really appeal - however I gave it a go, and before I knew it, I was spending hours just re-sculpting the landscape outside my house, simply because I didn't like the view :)

Farming Simulator 15 - again bought for the kids, but enjoyed a "sim" style game, managing money, when to upgrade etc.
