Ok, I have seen the 300 (great film) and must say its given me the urge to play a game with large scale battles. Im after really more realistic battles where im given reinforcements not create them like C&C (though a damn fine game). I'm not fussy if its fantasy world or real world, i just wanted to know which is good. Bigger the battles, the better. I mean 10,000 troops no problem.

Really after as i said games which provide their own reinforcements, more realistic battles. Sudden Strike did a similar thing where you received reinforments rather than built them.

Any suggestions would be greatful.

Thanks, i'll check it out. Saw battle for middle earth, but dunno if this has as large scale battles like total war or if its a building/war game which isn't like total war im guessing

Well, if you ramp up the unit size in Total War, you can have several thousand troops on the field at a time. If you're prepared to take a slight hit in graphics (slight, hehe) you can try one of the old Cossacks games - my flatmate and I once had a six hour long battle which ended up with about 5k troops on each side. For the record, it was a stalemate and we had to quit out. :(

Anyway, my advice in Rome Total War - will run well on your system AND it's got some troops similar to what you saw in 300 :)
