Name me a *Scary* Horror Film

Hey all, always loved horror films but find that most nowadays dont scare me enough, things like saw and hostel just rely on gore and that doesn't really work for me. So does anyone have any genuinely scary films i should watch?

I think some Japanese ones are meant to be good. Like the original Ring etc. They are a bit more psychological than the american counterparts. And they actually seem to have better character development, whereas the blockbusters are normally pants.

Night of the Demon (Curse of the Demon in the USA) b&w 1957 Dana Andrews Peggy Cummins.. still, IMHO ,the daddy of them all..

These might be old, but i assure you..watch them at night with the curtains open so you get those *mad shadows* across the walls and they will send a genuine chill down your spine...
