Name me some 70's songs!

If you have Winamp then just play SkyFm the 70s channel, that would sort you out. Otherwise here is a very quick list of artists and some songs that were around in the 70s, if I haven't listed individual tracks then any song by the artist is probably worth a listen. :)

Abba
Dire Straits
Odyssey - Native New Yorker
Diana Ross & The Supremes
Marvin Gaye
McFadden & Whitehead - Ain't No Stopping Us Now
Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young (or indeed any of the artists as individuals)
Rose Royce
Gloria Gaynor
Leon Redbone - Witch Queen Of New Orleans (possibly my favourite of the list currently).
The Temptations
The Three Degrees
early Jackson 5

//edit whoops how could I forget Lynyrd Skynyrd, responsible for probably the greatest song of all time (Freebird, in case there was any doubt).

Probably not what you're after but the first thing I thought of when I read your OP was Life On Mars. They list each track used in each episode here. Just click on the series and episode number followed by music info. Hope that helps.

Your car is British, so you want to be having some British bands in there.

T-Rex
Deep Purple
The Who
David Bowie
Led Zeppelin
Sex Pistols
Rolling Stones
Status Quo
Queen
Slade
The Jam
The Clash

Loads more but they are the ones that spring to mind as being big in the 70's.

The Police
Clapton
John Fogerty/Creedence Clearwater Revival
Led Zep
AC/DC
ZZ Top
Aerosmith
Bill Joel
Rod Stewart
Sly and the family stone
Blondie
