Name my new pet rats.

Ok, ok, so it isn't as cool as name my new dog/cat/child. I've been wanting to get some new rats for a while now seeing as my old ones made such great pets but I want some inspiration for names this time.

After your suggestions I will choose a few that I prefer then put those in a random generator or a poll for you to decide :confused:

Funny or daft names may be preffered; my old rats were called Fanny, Pinky, Brain & Betty.

Details: 2 female dumbo rats (ears stick out the side of their heads), they're only 11 weeks - so yeah they crap themselves at the sight of a human as displayed in the photo

Splinter would be good but if they were boys. Shorter names are better too for training them, although RomanNose's suggestions may contradict this

I've got 5 girls at the minute - Katherine, Elena, Keek, Ghost and Mouse.

Other names I've had for my girls are Dory, Squeak, Mischief, Munchkin, Misty, Splodge, Racetrack, Starbuck, Keira and Boomer. Boys have been Edward, Emmett, Apollo and Husker.

Cage base looks like a Jenny, is it?

Would say mink, probably tell better when a little older

and no it's a Mary not Jenny.

Nah, the rat cage calculator works out at 2 cubic feet per rat in this will fit 2 rats ok plus they will be out of the cage a lot of the time, they will be fine.

I'm teaching them the word "Door" at the moment, they will then learn "Hatch". See if I can get them to come to the roof hatch or the front door when I shout them

One of our last pair died of mammary tumours....that was not a good week as Gladys died on the Tuesday (in my hands too) which was 3 days before I deployed for 4 months.......

One of mine developed a mammary tumour just last month. She was taken to the vets and had it removed. £120! Vets aren't daft are they
